Fairgrounds Liquors and Smokes In The News
Louisville Kentucky “WOW”
“AN AMBASSADOR” for Louisville for sure.
When my family decided to come to the Thunder over Louisville Fireworks show this past week, little did we realize that it was truly to become an adventure, we would surely never forget.
This is primarily due to meeting a truly astute person named Roger and his staff at Fairgrounds Liquors located near the Hotel that we stayed at on Preston Highway. He is truly an ambassador for Louisville and the surrounding area with a wealth of knowledge concerning Louisville. Helpful is not large enough of a word to describe the advise we received from him. He also directed us to the Blue Horse Restaurant at the Plaza on Phillips Lane where the food was just simply outstanding.
We decided to stay over for the Balloon Glow as well on Friday night….what beauty and people should feel very lucky to have such great events.
If money were not the problem…we would still be in Louisville for the entire two weeks. We will be back next year as we have been told that it gets bigger and larger every year.
Kudos’ to Louisville, Roger and every one that played a part in making our visit so enjoyable.

It was great to read about the family from Cleveland who recently attended Thunder Over Louisville and how one business owner really made a difference in their perception of our fine city and all it has to offer.
Their effusive praise of the Fairgrounds Liquor staff points out how each business and their employees are indeed ambassadors to Louisville. It also reminded me of the fierce opposition that Councilman Jim King, the Belmar Neighborhood Association and Bill Schreck, Metro Director of Inspections, Permits and Licenses, had to the re-opening of the 50 year old neighborhood liquor store on the grounds that it would not be a good neighbor and citizen.
A quick drive by of this store will reveal it to be one of the cleanest and attractive businesses along that section of Preston Highway and coupled with the owner's obvious love and enthusiasm for Louisville, proves the old adage that one should never judge a book by its cover.
